Our Mission

NHEA is a 501(c)(6) membership association for U.S. household employers who employ workers in their homes on a regular basis. This includes those who employ nannies, senior caregivers, housekeepers, butlers, gardeners, chauffeurs, chefs, babysitters, estate staff, and others.

Members who are clients of our approved payroll provider, GTM Payroll Services, have access to a retirement plan for their employees through NHEA.

The primary goals of the NHEA are to:

  • promote employment best practices for household employers and;
  • provide access to group retirement benefits for the employees of household employers.

Our History and Founder

The National Household Employer Association (NHEA) is the brainchild of Guy Maddalone. GTM donates the technical assistance, administrative support and educational material to the NHEA for member use.
